Castro County Kids, Inc. Basketball Special Playing Rules
C. RULES FOR PEE WEE LEAGUES
1. The General rules for all leagues shall apply.
2. Four Six (6) minute periods shall be followed. There will be a running clock throughout the game. There is a five (5) minute halftime.
3. Man-To-Man Defense required throughout entire game.
Penalty: First Offense—warning only Each subsequent offense—Technical Foul
4. The ball must be passed one time after front court status has been established before a shot can be taken except on a fast break after a defensive steal.
Penalty: Loss of Possession
5. Backcourt Defense is prohibited throughout entire game.
Penalty: First Offense—warning only Each subsequent offense—Technical Foul
6. The three (3) second lane violation rule is changed to a five (5) second lane violation rule.
7. The free throw line shall be from the bottom of the face of the free throw circle (Free throw line will be taped or marked on court).
8. The basket shall be 8’0” from the floor.
9. The official Junior size ball shall be used.
10. An Isolation Offense is prohibited. Teams must involve all of their players in the offensive patterns.
Penalty: First Offense—warning only Each subsequent offense—Technical Foul
11. Bonus and double bonus penalty revoked.
12. Three (3) point rule is revoked.
13. Each player must play at the least 2 complete quarters and EACH PLAYER MUST SIT OUT ONE (1) COMPLETE QUARTER. IF EITHER TEAM HAS 6 OR LESS PLAYERS, THIS RULE IS SUSPENDED FOR BOTH TEAMS
14. There are no substitutions during a quarter or period unless a player is injured, ill or has acquired five (5) fouls.
D. RULES FOR MINOR LEAGUE
1. The general Rules for all leagues shall apply.
2. Seven (7) minute periods shall be followed. There will be a running clock throughout the game unless shooting free throws and the last two minutes in the 2nd & 4th periods. There is a five (5) minute half-time.
3. Tie games will continue in overtime(s) with a three (3) minute running clock.
4. Man-To-Man Defense required throughout entire game.
Penalty: First Offense—warning only Each subsequent offense—Technical Foul
5. Backcourt Defense is prohibited throughout entire game.
Penalty: First Offense—warning only Each subsequent offense—Technical Foul
6. The three (3) second-lane violation rule is in effect.
7. The free throw line shall be the white line in front of regulation free throw line for the minor girls and boys.
8. The basket shall be regulation height from the floor.
9. The official women’s ball (28.5) shall be used for minor girls. The official men’s ball (29.5) shall be used for minor boys.
10. An Isolation Offense is prohibited. Teams must involve all of their players in the offensive patterns.

11. Three (3) point rule is revoked.
12. Each player must play to complete quarters and EACH PLAYER MUST SIT OUT ONE (1) COMPLETE QUARTER. IF EITHER TEAM HAS 6 OR LESS PLAYERS, THIS RULE IS SUSPENDED FOR BOTH TEAMS.
E. RULES FOR MAJOR LEAGUE
1. The General Rules for all leagues shall apply.
2. Seven (7) minute periods shall be followed. There will be a running clock throughout the game unless shooting free throws and the last two minutes in the 2nd & 4th periods.
3. Tie games will continue in overtime(s) with a three (3) minute running clock.
4. The three (3) second-lane violation rule is in effect.
5. Backcourt Defense is allowed the first, second, third and fourth quarters. In subsequent overtimes, Backcourt Defense is allowed and the defense may play any type of defense in the backcourt.
6. Three (3) point rule is revoked.
7. Each player must play 2 complete quarters and EACH PLAYER MUST SIT OUT ONE (1) COMPLETE QUARTER. IF EITHER TEAM HAS 6 OR LESS PLAYERS, THIS RULE IS SUSPENDED FOR BOTH TEAMS.
